Our Angels on the Phone are the heartbeat of our organisation.
These Angels on the phone spend hours with our farmers assessing their requirement for hardship relief, conducting well-being checks, as well as cattle prices, irrigation issues, soil moisture or other farm related issues.
The staff and volunteers who work in this team are farmers themselves or have rural life experience. They are compassionate and understand each family is different and require support tailored to them.
Through the time spent talking with farmers, we have learnt that generalised financial assistance is more welcome than a targeted store voucher. This enables the families to have some control over their decisions.
